Biography
Marilyn Renkes is a partner in K2S. Marilyn specializes in all areas of taxation. She is the firm’s designated tax authority.
Marilyn received her BS in 1963 from the Pennsylvania State University, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. She joined the firm as a partner in 1985 and is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. In 1995, she joined the Estate Planning Council of Erie.
Marilyn has conducted a variety of seminars, including tax law seminars and seminars on various aspects of retirement planning. She has instructed classes through the Center for Nonprofit Services. Additionally, Marilyn has instructed an Income Tax course at the Behrend campus of the Pennsylvania State University. She was awarded a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Tax Planning and Advising for Closely Held Businesses in which she was taught the skills to efficiently identify and resolve complex tax issues relating to closely held businesses.
Marilyn has also been active in the Erie community over the years. Marilyn served a six-year term on the YWCA board beginning in 1985 and functioned as president of the board for one term. She is also involved with the Mercyhurst Prep High School board, serving on two committees. Marilyn is involved with the local chapter of the American Association of University Women. She is also a member of the Erie Philharmonic finance committee.
